Builder's Tool Bin
One valuable benefit of membership in EAA and Chapter 1414 is access to other aircraft owners/builders and their tools. We have arranged with some of our members to make types of specialized tools available to those who need them. Most of these tools are the kind that you might need only once, or occasionally, as you work on an airplane -- but they are items that can really come in handy when you do need them. These tools do not belong to the Chapter!

Terms of Use: (Please Read!)
Use of these tools is a privilege, not a right. The tools listed on this website are intended to be used by EAA Chapter 1414 members who are current builders or owners, for use on an aircraft that they themselves are performing work on. These tools are for YOUR use only, not your non-member pals.

Anyone borrowing tools will be expected to take proper care of them. Return them clean. If you break something, repair it before returning it, or discuss it with the tool's owner. Don't just return it and assume it's his job to fix it. Do not pass tools on to other members without first clearing it with the tool's owner.

How to "Check Out" Tools:
1. Contact the owner of the tool, and ask if you can borrow the item(s). (If you use the e-mail addresses below, be sure to replace the word "at" with the symbol @.)
2. Arrange to pick up the tool from the lender at the lender's convenience. Arrange for its return.
3. Take care of the tool as if it were your own.
4. Return the tool, in good condition, within a reasonable amount of time. Simple, huh?

In addition to the above items, member Randy Ferris has generously noted that he has an extensive workshop, containing just about any tool imaginable for aircraft construction or maintenance. If you need to borrow something, Randy probably has it. Contact him at P47RF(at)hotmail.com or at 815-558-0581.

Add Your Tools to Our Program! To have your own tools added to this list, contact Buck Wyndham at buckwynd(at)aol.com. We're especially interested in listing the more unusual types of tools that most builders will not already own.

Thank you for participating! Helping other builders and aircraft owners is a big part of what EAA is all about.
